AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Israeli military official has admitted that Iran—not the Tel Aviv regime—was the one to dictate the timing of the ceasefire that ended the recent conflict between the two sides.
The Israeli regime was compelled to unilaterally halt its aggression against Iran in the early hours of Tuesday, June 24, following a social media post by U.S. President Donald Trump announcing a ceasefire.
Reserve Major General Yom-Tov Samia told Israeli media that Iran had seized control of the situation and determined when the ceasefire would begin.
Reflecting on the consequences for Israel, Samia said the regime had “purchased a few years of calm at a low price, but with wounds that will last for generations.”
Israel’s unprovoked assault on Iran, which began on June 13, triggered a powerful Iranian military response targeting strategic locations in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other occupied areas.
Samia also questioned U.S. and Israeli claims that American airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities had dismantled the country’s nuclear program.
“There is no certainty that the country’s nuclear program can actually be destroyed,” he said.
The U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 22.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the idea that Iran’s nuclear energy program could be eliminated, stating it is “based on indigenous knowledge and cannot be eliminated by bombing.”
